This privacy policy (“Policy”) describes how the Ahmadiyya Maal Office App (“Ahmadiyya Maal Office App”, “we”, “us” or “our”) collects, protects and uses personally identifiable information (“Personal Information”) you (“User”, “you” or “your”) may provide in the app while accessing and using it.

This Policy does not apply to the practices of companies/partnerships or otherwise that we do not own or control, or to individuals that we do not employ or manage. This app is only available for the use of registered members of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Association Australia.

About the Ahmadiyya Muslim Association

The Ahmadiyya Muslim Association (“The Association”) is committed to the propagation of the true and peaceful teachings of Islam. The Association also promotes social, moral and spiritual well-being.

Collection of personal information

The app accesses, collects, uses, and shares user data as follows:

• The app collects mobile phone number during initial setup to identify a registered member of the Association.

• For enhanced security, Two-Factor Authentication process is deployed using a third party SMS service provider.

• All in flight data is encrypted using Industry Standard Data encryption protocols.

• All app traffic is monitored and logged for security purposes. However, logs are deleted after a set period of time based on internal IT policy.

Storing personal information

We will retain and use your Personal Information for the period necessary to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements (“retention period”) unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law. We may use any aggregated data derived from or incorporating your Personal Information after you update or delete it, but not in a manner that would identify you personally. Therefore, the right to access, the right to erasure, the right to rectification and the right to data portability cannot be enforced after the expiration of the retention period.

How we use your personal information

We will use your personal information to:

• further our charitable objectives;

• administer your donation or support your fundraising;

• manage our events;

• send you correspondence and communicate with you;

• respond to or fulfill any requests, complaints or queries you make to us;

• administer our app and to troubleshoot, perform data analysis and generate statistics related to our technical systems;

• testing our technical systems to make sure they are working as expected;

• display content to you in a way appropriate to the device you are using;

• generate reports on our work, services and events;

• safeguard our staff and volunteers;

• meet our legal obligations, for instance to perform contracts between you and us, or our obligations to regulators, government and/or law enforcement bodies;

Your rights

Under the Australian privacy principles you have a number of important rights.

• fair processing of information and transparency over how we use your use personal information

• require us to correct any mistakes in your information which we hold

• require the erasure of personal information concerning you in certain situations

Data breach

In the event we become aware that there has been unauthorised access to, or unauthorised disclosure of, or loss of, any Personal Information collected by the app. We reserve the right to take reasonably appropriate measures, including, but not limited to, investigation and reporting, as well as notification to and cooperation with law enforcement authorities.

In the event of a data breach, we will make reasonable efforts to notify affected individuals if we believe that the unauthorised access to, or unauthorised disclosure of, or loss of, any of the Personal Information is likely to result in serious harm to the registered member to whom the Personal Information relates to, or if notice is otherwise required by law.

Changes and amendments

It is at our discretion to update this Privacy Policy from time to time.
